how do they keep getting stuck

The last two steps are too well hidden, for me, atm. :)

EDIT: I finally (after 11 days) found the 2 cut. Feels logical, now. Flash's magic, of course. It often gives me some pains. ;) 

They really kept getting stuck in a way that took a bit too many moves to get them apart, again. lol
