Good laugh for me here: worked out a nicely optimized route but still too far, until I realized I can do exactly the same route a lot closer to target by changing side... I then won straight *banging head on table*

Initially I needed some effort to reach the exit at all. 
Surprisingly great solution. 
As a Light theme user, visually it does appropriately resemble a copper ore.
