Got stuck 8 off for a few attempts before getting it. A bit visually hard to parse, but overall a fun puzzle to work backwards from the end on.

Only issue with this level is the name. Should be called "Soul Crusher". Probably my lowest stepcount unsolved at this point. Simple design, but not simplistic. Brutal 2 offs and a mysterious solution. Edit: Got it 3rd try today 2 months later. Lmao. What a funky ass path. Well played, Palm.
